April 25th Declared as Damon Wilson Day in Prince George’s County

APRIL 25, 2022 – Today, Prince Georges County Executive Angela Alsobrooks declared April 25 as Damon Wilson day in honor of Bowie State Head Football Coach Damon Wilson.

Wilson received the honor because of his exemplary coaching talents and leadership ability. On January 10, the American Football Coaches Association named the Bowie State Head Coach the National Coach of the Year for NCAA Division II Football, making him the first-ever CIAA Coach to win the Award.

Wilson led the Bulldogs to four straight NCAA playoff appearances, three straight CIAA Championships, and the first-ever DII Final Four appearance for Bowie State. In his 12-year career, he’s led the program to an 89-45 overall record. Wilson was also named Coach of the Year for the CIAA Conference and the AFCA Super Region II for the 2021-22 season.
