HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL AMERICA: The rivalry between DeMatha and Good Counsel needs no additional ammo to get the teams pumped up. However, it doesn’t hurt that the two teams enter this Friday’s showdown ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the High School Football America Maryland Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
More importantly, the winner is likely to have the inside track to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference regular season championship and the top-seed in the WCAC Capital Conference playoffs.
Both teams are also highly-ranked in the HSFA 300 national rankings. GC is ranked No. 26 in America. DeMatha enters the game ranked No. 30.
The game is being played on Friday, October 13, at 7 PM at Good Counsel High School.
