Lidl To Close Prince George’s County Store

PATCH: Discount grocery chain Lidl will close two Maryland locations in the coming days, including a store in Prince George’s County, a company spokesperson confirmed Wednesday.

The German grocer, which operates stores in several U.S. states, will close locations in Oxon Hill and Brooklyn Park on Sunday. According to a Lidl US spokesperson, the stores were “underperforming” and the company decided to close them to focus on locations that are experiencing “significant growth.”

The Oxon Hill store is located at 6111 Livingston Rd.

According to the company, all affected employees will be offered positions at nearby stores.

“We appreciate the contributions team members in the stores have made and want them to be part of our growing network of stores,” the company said in a statement.
