Women’s Bowling Returns to Action at CIAA Event II

BOWIE STATE ATHLETICS: The Bowie State women’s bowling team returns to action for 2023 this weekend at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Event II, hosted by Elizabeth City State University, starting on Friday, Jan. 27 at the OBX Bowling Center.

Traditional team matches will begin at 10:40 a.m. on Friday and five-game Baker matches will commence at 8:40 a.m. on Sunday.

The Bulldogs hope to sustain its dominance amongst conference opponents this season.

BSU last competed in the CIAA Event I where Bowie State went a perfect 12-0 against CIAA Northern Division opponents including Virginia State, Elizabeth City State and Virginia Union. The Bulldogs combined for 6,159 total pins and 2,135 pins in Baker’s for 8,294 total, which was the best amongst the CIAA North and third overall. BSU’s Paris Anthony earned the events highest average (150.00) and highest score (182) from the Northern Division. Currently, Anthony ranks top-10 for individual averages (9th) at 150.00.
